Getting Started

First you need a source image:

Now you should see your image in the left view and a part of it in the right one. All you see in the left view, titled 'Source", will be enlarged. This can be the complete original image or ( after cropping ) a region of it. Additionally you see a grey square in the middle of the view, which marks the current location of the preview.

The interior of this square is shown in the right view ( titled 'Preview' ), scaled by the current zoom factor. This view shows only a part of the result. It is only for giving you an impression of the zoom and for testing enlarging parameters. By clicking onto the Preview button, you can see what the enlarger does with the contents of the preview.

Change the zoom with the slider under the left view and press 'Enlarge & Save' to create an enlarged version of the complete contents of the left view. After the progress bar reached 100% the result is automatically saved to the file and location named in the 'Source & Saving' tab.

Most interface elemets have tool tips ( they pop up when you don't move the mouse some time ).

By the way: For big zoom rates you might get better results when doing the enlargement in multiple steps:

For example for a 16-times Enlargement you could first enlarge with 400% into a temporary file ( best not to use JPEG for this to avoid artifacts ) which you then load and enlarge by a further 400% to the desired size.
